The Adjectives Megadeck helps children move from naming things to describing them: from "pillow" to "soft pillow" to "This pillow is soft." Each of the 104 cards pairs a describing word with an everyday object or person, with the describing word highlighted in red. Many words come in contrast sets, such as weak and strong, and some have more than one contrast, which helps children understand each word by comparing it with others. Scan a card's QR code to hear the phrase, then a full sentence.

From naming to describing
Each card builds the same three steps:
- Name it: pillow
- Describe it: soft pillow
- Say it in a sentence: This pillow is soft.
Describing words give children the detail they need to explain what they want, compare things, and make their sentences and stories clearer.
How the audio works
- Go to chatterbugs.app and enter the code from your box.
- Choose a language.
- Scan the QR code on any card, or enter its number, to hear the phrase and a sentence.
In the app you can slow the audio down, replay just the phrase or just the sentence, and record your own voice as the model. Audio plays online, so you'll need an internet connection.
How to use the cards
- Start small. Choose 5 to 10 cards at a time.
- Compare. Where cards belong to a contrast set, such as weak and strong, put them side by side and talk about the difference.
- Describe real things. After a card, find something at home to describe the same way: "Is your pillow soft?"
- Add more detail. Encourage two describing words: "a big, soft pillow".
- Play a guessing game. Describe a card without naming it and let your child guess which one it is.
