Action Words Level 2 helps children who use single words start putting two together: "girl jumping", "monkey jumping". Every card is double-sided and shows the same action twice, done by a child on one side and by a monkey on the other. The action stays the same while the "who" changes, which gives children a natural reason to combine words. Scan the card's QR code to hear the action word spoken clearly, followed by a sentence describing what's happening in the picture, in English or one of eight other languages.

Why each card has two sides

Side 1: a child doing the action, with the word printed. Use it to introduce and name the action.

Side 2: a monkey doing the same action, with no text. Flip the card and ask, "Who's eating now?" Then wait. Because there's no text to read or copy, your child has to find the word themselves. That spontaneous attempt is what builds real speech.

Seeing one action done by two different characters also teaches that "eating" means the same thing whoever is doing it. And it gives children an easy two-word pattern: who + action.

How the audio works

How to use the cards

1. Name it. Show the child side and play the audio. Say the word together and act it out.
2. Flip it. Turn to the monkey side and ask, "Who's jumping?" Give your child time to answer.
3. Add a word. If your child says one word ("jumping"), repeat it back with one more: "Monkey jumping!"
4. Keep it playful. Take turns, act out the actions, and look for them during the day.

A few minutes, often, works better than long sessions.
